What are you good at?

One of the greatest things about the emerging Connected Age, in which you are all a huge part just by reading this blog or being a part of our wider network, is that so much has changed about the way we view leadership, power, and the best strategies for social change.

Chances are you are a part of a number of networks…. think about it. How many cause pages are connected to your FB profile? How many groups do you support? How many nonprofits or ngos are you a fan of? How many blogs do you read every week? Okay, how about how many websites about social action do you visit, or campaigns have you taken part of, or checks have you written to a good cause? This is the Connected Age and it is easier than EVER BEFORE IN HUMAN HISTORY to be connected and engaged with so many stories and needs and communities as easily from our own cities as around the world. Actually, you are connected for sure, but are you engaged?

Nowadays, organizations and cause leaders have realized that they can’t live by power centers and hierarchies of control. Or else they will die by these same structures…. and die quickly. Too many of you out there have the very passion and expertise that is so needed for real social change to take place and organizations are starting to recognize that at higher rates. The SAGE Project is one of those. Clearly, because of the nature of our work, there are some things that aren’t shared broadly across the internet, but you know what our passion is and we try to express to you our needs so that you can decide how you fit in. We want you to be engaged with us and with any other organizations you are connected to. This is how we are going to change the world.

It starts by you deciding…. What are you good at?

Even more impressive…. if you can’t engage at the moment, chances are you know someone in your wider network who can!  Stay connected and stay engaged!

Here’s one recent need that we want to spread through our network:

Request for Pro-Bono Dentistry One of our greatest needs at the moment is pro-bono dentistry. If you are a dentist practicing in San Francisco interested in helping or if you know a dentist who might be interested in providing these services, please pass this information on to them.

Contact: Annie Fukushima, Lead Trafficking Case Manager at 415-358-2713 or annief@sagesf.org. Thank you!
